Call to Colorado Regional Meeting of Friends Fall Gathering
Please join us for this cherished opportunity for shared spiritual growth, Quaker fellowship, and fun!

Mary Lord will present, "Peace starts at home."

We look forward to welcoming you at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado.

About Our Theme, “Peace starts at home:”
Conflict and differences are a normal part of human societies.  Peacemaking enables us to creatively address, resolve and recover from conflicts before they become destructive or violent or cyclical.  Mary will explore with us some lessons and stories of peacemaking we can use in our homes--whether personal, Meeting, community, or wider world.  Her talk will be grounded in the spiritual foundation of the historic Quaker Testimony and witness of Peace.

About Our presenter, Mary Lord:

Mary Lord is currently the Quaker Studies teacher at Pendle Hill in Philadelphia.  She retired in 2007 at age 62 as the national peace director for the American Friends Service Committee, and previously worked for the Friends Committee on National Legislation.  Before her work with Friends organizations, she worked for peace and social justice with a variety of non-profit, academic, and government organizations.  She has spoken and led workshops among Friends in the Americas, Kenya, and Britain.  Mary is a member of Adelphi Friends Meeting, Baltimore Yearly Meeting.
