The Peace and Justice Committee of Mountain View Friends Meeting bears witness to the commitment of Friends to make their lives speak their faith.

We encourage members to participate in the work for social change as part of larger groups or independently according to individual leadings

Through various efforts (individually and as a community) we continue to work on:
  • repealing the death penalty
  • children/family justice
  • anti-war activities (vigils, yard signs, etc)
  • interfaith issues
  • eliminating torture by way of closing the SOA/WHISEC, and the Quaker Initiative to End Torture
  • Friends of Sabeel, and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict
  • Immigration issues
  • Eliminating cluster bombs
  • Christian Peace Teams
  • Our major work this year is the Greening of the Meeting, not only the Meeting itself, but to make our Members and Attenders think about making this a better world to live in.
Friends must bear in mind that any perceived inequality gets in the way of relating to that of God in one another.

Respectfully submitted
Glen McGuire, Co-Clerk
